Founded in 1948 as Modern Mold & Tool, National Pen is a recognized leader in the promotional-products industry, capitalizing on its expertise in pen and ink manufacturing, custom imprinting, and direct marketing.

As one of the largest sellers of promotional advertising specialties, National Pen sells highly decorated pens and other items such as calendars, mugs, clothing, and electronics. Proprietary technology is used to personalize almost all of the products it sells with customer names, logos, advertising messages or other decorations. National Pen employs a business-to-business, direct-marketing strategy to sell low minimum quantities at very competitive prices via mail order, telemarketing, and the internet (www.pens.com). Headquartered in San Diego, California, the business also operates out of facilities in Shelbyville, Tennessee; Tijuana, Mexico; and Dundalk, Ireland.

With the 2007 acquisition of Atlas Pen & Pencil, National Pen extended its reach into the education market.
